Pros

the best part about working here was leaving :)

Cons

where do I start....... - managers and directors are corrupt - they force you to buy Telus products to hit your target - work weekends on a salary - they choose when you take holidays - it's not remote they will make you come to the office as punishment - took all of the sales commission cheques before Christmas (some reps had $10,000 taken from them) - you are asked to bribe customers to win deals - if customers leave because of bad customer service (you have no control over) they take money out of your paycheck for a "clawback" a lot of reps working here are struggling with mental health issues from the job and nobody cares. it seems backwards considering TELUS has "the best culture and beliefs" it's an absolute joke of a company and these issues need to be made known to the public and business owners.

Pros

The WFH / Hybrid option is nice.

Cons

Hypocritical in their company values. Touts being leaders in health and well-being yet pushes employees to the point of physical and emotional distress and illness. If an employee experiences any physical or mental illness, they are pigeonholed in their current position and will be systematically pushed by management to resign. If they don't vacate, additional workload is added to their portfolio without room for advancement, adequate compensation or even recognition, even if the employee is excelling beyond their job description. Non existent work life balance due to poor judgement and practices by upper management. No transparency within the company. Poor communication between departments regarding new processes. Frivolous spending on poorly thought-out office renovations wastes money while employees are packaged out of the company. Favoritism and toxic upper management are rampant. Outsourcing everything, at all costs, even when new systems are noncompliant with existing business requirements and when they have been cautioned by experts that moving forward with these new systems, would be a detriment without additional testing and backups at this time. Consistent nearsightedness causes system issues company-wide with little to no thought of the negative impact this will have on their employees, as well as customer experience but they do not care.

Pros

Benefits were decent. You definately needed the $5,000 for psychotherapy/therapy after employment here. Only real pro was the working from home.

Cons

If you work in the call center you are not allowed to hang up on abusive customers. Telus added in 2023 to their ethics policy that it is now deemed an ethics violation to hang up on any customer, including abusive ones. Creating a toxic work environment, leading to numerous employees having mental health crisises sadly. Management will do anything to get rid of unionized onshore agents. My position In their mobility escalations team when I first started was 100percent onshore in Canada. Then in March 2023 they trained a large group of offshore agents in the Philippines. Then in May 2023 4,000 severance packages were offered to onshore unionized reps. If you did not take the severance package, Management would harass you to the point of either quitting, finding something to terminate your employment or forcing you to accept a secondary package offer. Telus no longer gives where they live as one of their slogans....now they only give to offshore agents whom are underpaid, overworked, but made to feel like they should be greatful for their jobs. Not knowing the impact to the agents that devoted numerous(almost 20 for me) of years of being a dedicated hard worker.
