Pros

Typical WFH balance (3 days in office/2 from home); some great people work at Springer Nature; there are oppotunities to be involved in employee groups etc.

Cons

Top leadership are not invested in their employees, but do put a lot of effort into making it seem as if they are. No progression/some people who happen to be men get paid a lot more than others for the same role, no pracitcal steps to address internal inequalities and genearl low morale.

Pros

- work environment is very good and supportive - when you are done for the day or the holidays, you are done; no need to think about work, plan, worry or feel guilty! - international teams and colleagues from a wide range of academic backgrounds - encouraged to professionally develop - flexible working hours - 4/5 days WFH

Cons

- very competitive applications to get the job, and communication with unsuccessful applicants can be very poor. - you need to stop thinking like an academic and start thinking like a publisher (can take some getting used to) - daily routine can feel monotonous at times

Thank you for your review. Our work life balance is important and holidays critical for taking time to rest up without worrying about work. We are a truly global organisation with diverse and highly talented teams. I'm concerned to hear that we have at times neglected to provide interview feedback. Candidate experience so important so I will raise this with the global recruitment team leads.

Pros

Company can be relatively stable depending on which department you work in (although some departments are prone to repeated reorganisations).

Cons

No career progression in some departments. Your manager can completely stifle any advancement, most managers do not care about you being underpaid relative to your position and experience and are happy to take advantage of the lack of transparency which means you're not aware of being underpaid. Managers will make promises to make you stay but won't deliver on them.

Thank you for sharing the feedback. Our colleague development is high on our priorities and we have invested heavily in this. In terms of specific managers. Our managers receive coaching and encouraged to actively participate training specific to our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy. All colleagues fairly and with respect and transparency. We are launching 2 new manager sessions this summer. If you have concerns with your specific manager please discuss with HR. Our global churn rate is thankfully quite low and we do look at teams with slightly higher turnover. Thank you again.
