Pros

A few sensible people are present but they are on mute

Cons

Fire fighting approach towards work Exploitation Compulsory weekend working (even if you are dying, no leaves offered) Crazy managers Team Leads selection based on 2 things - 1) should be a woman & 2) should be a girl

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we’re sorry to hear about your personal experience. We constantly work towards making Springer Nature a great place to work. We ensure our colleagues have equal access to growth and development opportunities and we assure you that there isn’t any conscious bias. We continuously strive to make our processes transparent and inclusive. Colleagues have to go through a test, group discussion/technical test and 2 to 3 rounds of interviews. The 7-day rotational working is part of a business unit’s regular way of working and the same is communicated to all, working on weekend is optional. However, if there are any concerns you feel that warrants attention, we will be happy to look into it. Please reach out to HR.

Pros

- working with smart people who are dedicated and hard working - being close to scientific knowledge and discoveries - company values that make sense, and are caring towards the environment and their workforce - attempts at being innovative and develop strengths in multiple areas - they seem to know what they're doing financially

Cons

- very large, global company with lots of smaller companies and teams within, who don't really speak to one another - unclear goals and strategies (unless you're high up in leadership) - not effective in supporting employees development and career development - pay for most positions not great esp. for employees in expensive cities - but to be fair most of publishing is like this

Thank you for sharing. We do indeed have a very nice culture and we are all proud of the work that we do to contribute to sharing information to enable learning. We are all working to ensure that SN becomes a more environmentally and socially responsible organisation. In line with our purpose and values and also to reflect the important research we publish relating to climate change and the SDGs. In 2021, we committed to become a net zero organisation by 2040. Work life balance is strong at SN and we aim to support everyone's development - more to come on this during the Summer.

Pros

Colleagues are wonderful human beings, Flexibility

Cons

Hierarchical, lack of open mindedness, people who there the longest are given the highest trust and people who are not there for such a long time are not trustee. Poor conflict managing skills.
