Thank you for sharing and terrific to hear your thoughts. As a global and progressive business, we want to create a culture and working environment that enables our people to perform at their best and grow. Our open and ambitious culture gives colleagues the space to develop and in line with our new brand stretch their horizons and have everything they need to be themselves and excel. Every day we help researchers, clinicians and educators find solutions for future generations to come. Our hybrid and flexible working culture works well for our strong work life balance. Our Workation policy is indeed proving very popular and gives colleagues the chance to spend up to 20 days per year with friends and family abroad and combine work and family time. Thank you again.

Pros

I am very happy at Springer Nature. From the start, I was offered support to grow and develop in my role. The onboarding process was smooth and I had plenty of time to learn everything I needed to learn to do my job. My co-workers and managers are helpful, friendly and open to feedback. This is one of the most professional and fair places I have ever worked at. The company offers a lot of trainings and is committed to making their employees feel empowered, seen and heard. The company culture is warm and welcoming, DEI initiatives, amazing. I cannot fault this company and I look forward to many years here.

Cons

I have not found any.

Pros

There are can be awesome people but smart ones quickly realize it is not the place to be and leave. All smart/ambitions people leave pretty quickly realizing how sh*t of a company SN is.

Cons

SN is truly the worst publishing house to work for. Salaries are so low, they are definitively not proportionate to the workload. Everything is being automated and sent to India, so all US and UK editors will be replaced by Indian outsources (just like they replaced all editorial assistants a few years ago). Commissioning targets are super high and unrealistic. Editors have to put zero thought into reading/evaluating proposals since their workload is so bad. AVOID.

Sorry to read your review and your perspective of Springer Nature. Disappointed to read this particularly as Springer Nature is truly a people business and our work touches millions of people every day. We are proud of our fantastic colleagues and the communities we work with as well as the wider public who benefit from the research we publish. Like any global business we are looking to make efficiencies but we are also committed to retaining our talented colleagues who are made up of dedicated, passionate and highly trained colleagues. Our salaries are benchmarked to the industry standards and our flexible and generous benefits prove popular (hybrid working, Workation to name just 2). Interestingly our turnover is quite low globally and work life balance is proving very popular with colleagues who enjoy the dynamic culture.
