Pros

Sogeti is an excellent place to learn about the world of sales oriented consulting. If you have a strong desire to learn about the technologies that the marketplace is looking for then Sogeti is an excellent place to work.

Cons

Because of the strongly sales oriented nature of the company (it's all about making profit) there are situations that you as a consultant may become involved with that are difficult and rather sticky during your representation to a Sogeti client. Be wary of over committing yourself as the expectations will be set at the bar you set for yourself. It should also be noted that the initial negotiation and hiring process for Sogeti tends to be long and drawn out with many interviews (usually by phone). Make sure you negotiate the salary you expect at the beginning, pay increases are not tied promotions directly, only the upper limits are tied to your position.

Pros

A good place to get experience on several different technologies. The job can be extremely flexible with time off. I have met a lot of good people that work here during my time.

Cons

The expectation to always be a salesperson is a huge turnoff, especially when not all people are comfortable with sales. Lots of pressure to remain knowledgeable on all technologies that are hot on your own time. Does not have a very good training program in place, this could be done a lot better. You are knocked for being 'on the bench' when there are no projects. If there are no projects going on while on the bench, you run the risk of being let go from the company. The job security is next to nothing. The newly implemented bonus program is very unfair and rewards a cut-throat mentality vs. teamwork on projects.

Pros

Sogeti provided a great environment to learn new technologies, though it could have been more organized.

Cons

There is a point at which advancement is really difficult / not possible to achieve. Of course they are a publicly traded company and are looking to grow quickly - which means that the "bench" has to be pretty lean. Consultants do sometimes have to work on technologies they neither want to be doing or are not skilled yet at accomplishing.
