Pros

Sogeti is a great community to work with. The company has pretty decently qualified consultants. The management is also transparent. There is a VP for each unit that takes care of the numbers. So it easy to grow and get noticed. I think Sogeti is a cut above the many other body shopping companies that call themselves consulting companies. Employees are treated very well. Ethical values exist.

Cons

Sogeti itself is still a young company. So some processes are yet to be defined well. Even though it says it works independent a Cap Gemini back up, it is still under the shadow of Cap Gemini.

Pros

Excellent management and sales team. The backend of the business is run very well. The consultants here are very qualified and I have not seen anybody ruin a project via incompetence. Sogeti also offers a benefit package that clearly outshines other consulting companies and have no out of state travel for consultants.

Cons

Long hours are expected, but I guess that is why they call it work. I also have a long commute, but that is more of a "me" issue than a company issue.

Pros

Sogeti is an excellent place to learn about the world of sales oriented consulting. If you have a strong desire to learn about the technologies that the marketplace is looking for then Sogeti is an excellent place to work.

Cons

Because of the strongly sales oriented nature of the company (it's all about making profit) there are situations that you as a consultant may become involved with that are difficult and rather sticky during your representation to a Sogeti client. Be wary of over committing yourself as the expectations will be set at the bar you set for yourself. It should also be noted that the initial negotiation and hiring process for Sogeti tends to be long and drawn out with many interviews (usually by phone). Make sure you negotiate the salary you expect at the beginning, pay increases are not tied promotions directly, only the upper limits are tied to your position.
