Pros

1. Team is friendly & helpful 2. Has been a good jumping point for my career 3. Good global mobility, team will look out for regional roles for graduates

Cons

1. Racism Some members of the commercial department are prone to making casual racist comments to me and other POC employees. When brought up with HR, they became very defensive and put a lot of pressure on us to name the perpetrators. When I did not name who they were as most were in a senior positions and I was worried how naming them might impact my working relationships within the company, HR used it as an excuse to downplay the seriousness of the issue, refusing to address what happened as racism and even went as far as calling it as vague as "experiences that are not in line with expectations". Both senior leadership and HR exhibited a blatant lack of understanding of racism and how to address it, and is also guilty of perpetuating it. HR also did not provide me with any support after learning what happened to me, and I had to approach them to ask for victim resources myself as this impacted my mental health. Senior leadership touts an "open door policy", but these felt like empty words in my experience. When other POCs and I offered feedback on their D&I initiatives (which they approached us for), everything we offered was eithered dealt with in a combative way or ignored. They ended up rolling out an optional online training module on unconscious bias which felt like a tick box exercise in response. Right before I left they also introduced a long term D&I plan but I have no confidence in the leadership at SCJ to implement it in a meaningful way, given their demonstrated lack of understanding of the topic. 2. WFH policy At the height of the pandemic late last year, the company was making us come in 4 days a week in the office which was (and still is) much more than the norm in the industry.
