Pros

After several years of working for this company I still can't say what pros are! Probably none unless you're into masochism

Cons

Abysmal if you see Ryanair as an opportunity to get into aviation world and then move somewhere else, it's still now worth it - this company will ruin your dream leaving you bitter and burnt out. Try EasyJet for that matter, definitely a nicer company to work for!

Pros

Fairly stable roster pattern. Good training department and SOP's. Up until now at least, has been a place where you can fast track your career into the left seat. Will probably change once expansion stops (2012).

Cons

You are seen and treated as a unnecessary but required cost. You have almost no control or influence over your annual leave. Your contract will change at the will of the management without any negotiations. The salaries and benefits have been reduced significantly over the last 10 years despite record profits almost every year. Most pilots will have to work as "self employed" which means no social benefits contributions from the company, but in every aspect that suits them you will in effect be considered to be their "employee". You can expect to be treated with very little respect from most department as the management has created a very unfriendly environment where fear, treats and reporting of colleagues are the norms and a way to advance your career.

Pros

I can't see any advantages to this position

Cons

I had a 4 minutes Interview with a person which was the same person I saw on the Cabin Crew introductory video on Youtube for some reason. What can I say... She was obvs trained to act bubbly even though I could sense she was clearly putting on an act and a fake smile. She went on saying she had (3000 interviews a week??? ) when I asked her about all the negative reviews for Ryanair which not only did not reply to my question but also sounded passive aggressive and condescending. ( she did still have a big smile on her face when saying that ) kudos for the mind programming Ehhrm....acting, sorry. She asked me to cut my hair? and cut the Interview when I told her I have a tattoo ( which can be easily concealed btw). So to get this straight, people need to look neat for a DISCRIMINATORY company that asks you to RELOCATE and move between airports at your own costs, lets you pay for everything ( even food whilst on the plane) DOESN'T PAY MINIMUM WAGE ( 1000£ pm for full days work or more as crew is only paid from the time plane lifts off, all the waiting and faffing around is NOT PAID or reimbursed). You'd have to be desperate to do that. Also, if you REALLY want to do this, Go ahead but you need at least 2 grands for the training and related costs. If you are lucky you can break even with the investment in 5 months and only then start earning below minimum wage. I don't understand how this company still operates and I don't know why people are not aware of this when booking flying tickets.
