Pros

I really enjoyed working with most of my team, I've made some close friendships in this company that I wish to continue. The location was lovely, being in the heart of Covent Garden was always a buzz. Throughout my employment I did have good opportunities and exposure at times.

Cons

I did think RW would have more opportunity for me to grow, and initially I wanted to be here long-term as they said they'd be able to support with my learning and development to complete a qualification I was wanting to do. I had to pursue the qualification independently. This experience was disheartening, especially as I was aware that in previous years, similar opportunities had been fully funded by the company. There was a big front and back office divide and in some cases we were reminded that we were working for our front office employees At times, back-office employees were reminded that we were "working for" the front office, which often felt discouraging and diminished our sense of contribution. The HR team were massively divided and there was a hierarchy. There were 3 separate sections everyone would sit so naturally communication was poor and we never had opportunities for team building. When dealing with matters, it would be a long process as we had strict rules to only communicate with our manager, and our manager would then confide in their manager and so on. This approach was not only time-consuming but also made us feel isolated, as though we were not functioning as a cohesive HR team.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, I’m really glad to hear that you enjoyed the opportunities for exposure and development and that you made firm friends. I am, naturally, disappointed to read your cons, we believe we really do work hard to provide long-term career opportunities for our people, and to build a collaborative and transparent culture, and I’m sorry that your experience didn’t reflect that. But I’m very grateful to you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and we are always open to feedback – if you’d like, you can reach out to me at indy.lachhar@robertwalters.com to arrange a confidential discussion.
