Pros

Good entry level sales position for recent college graduates. Really good health benefits, 401k, gas allowance. Great position to use as a stepping stone to more prestigious sales positions in other industries like, medical devices.

Cons

Below average pay. Extremely low commissions. Highly stressfull work environment due to the, unrealistic, maniacle focus on a 30 day sales schedule. Sales management is incompetent and unqualified to lead. The value sales managers bring to the account executives is questionable.

Ricoh, A great place to work

Pros

Great office environment, with great people. I have yet to meet anyone that was not cordial and friendly. People from other offices whom I have never met, are willing and able to assist with requests in a timely manner. The work load is a bit much at times, but then the best people are often the ones who are ridden the hardest as they expect the most of us. I am a producer and always have been in every company that I have worked for and this is the reason why I was selected to come and work for Ricoh.

Cons

Senior management does need to listen a bit more and provide better direction with respect to what project is most important. I always have at least 10 projects going at once and there never seems to be enough time to do them all in the time they want them completed. Lack of communication between the channels and the convoluted accounting systems used.

Pros

Looking forward to 5PM everyday, no more blitzes,one-on-ones, or useless micromanagement meetings. Didn't have to waste 2 weeks of my life attending "Sales 101 for dummies".

Cons

Micromanagement, Micromanagement, and more micromanagement. WAY too many meetings, favoritism, and office paperwork. Management says one thing and does another. One week they are your friend, the next they stab you in the back. Turnover is TERRIBLE. CRM "Sales Force" is useless because the turnover is so bad, it never gets updated enough to be useful. You spend horus and hours in meetings day in and day out, but at the same time they want you in the field in front of customers? Dont see how that makes any sense. Very contradictory. This is not inside sales, its "how to have a meeting" sales. Expect you to purchase useless sales books, and then you dont get reimbursed for it. Company car allowance and base pay is a joke. Most cases you are expected to sell a brand new machine, and the commission for all that paperwork and multiple customer visits is around $130 (before taxes).
