Pros

NA leadership does what it can. Though limited they’re willing to support as much as possible and provide flexibility to get the task done.

Cons

Germany leads everything even when they are not fully aware of the customer wants/needs. Seemingly make decisions in a vacuum without any strategy behind it.

Pros

- Highly skilled and experienced technical staff - Opportunity to work on advanced engineering projects within the defense sector - 9-day fortnight schedule, which helps manage work-related stress - Collaborate with a diverse and international community, offering both opportunities and challenges - Gain insight into the complexities of international business politics and how international executive decisions can impact subsidiary operations - Ideal for those who thrive in a dynamic environment, even if it means working long hours on projects without immediate visible outcomes and recognition - Advancement opportunities for individuals who can navigate and adapt to the company's challenging business practices and culture

Cons

- The Australian business is managed by a team that exhibits immature and unprofessional behavior, especially when their demands are not met. - Strategic management requires significant improvement - Culture discourages inquisitiveness, open questioning and transparency - Daily responsibilities are dominated by endless meetings and emails, often hindering productivity with a focus on design by committee. - Organisational instability and lack of clear direction and goals, often influence by spur of the moment strategic decisions internationally. - Engineering department faces a disconnect with executive leadership, which undervalues technical expertise - Highly challenging work environment with significant turnover, including key management team members, following 2023 redundancies - Despite a unified company ethos, internal competition for executive favor undermines collaboration - Prevalence of nepotism, with promotions and opportunities often based on conformity rather than merit - Significant attrition in the engineering team since the start of 2024, with no clear strategy for replacing these positions - Individuals who volunteer for attrition positions often encounter difficulties in receiving market-value compensation, and sometimes even the baseline salaries for the roles they assume.

Pros

Engineering and support staff I dealt with were some of the most friendly, helpful and knowledgeable people ever. The Engineering team can pretty much design anything if they are given management support and the correct tools and information. Hybrid work flexibility 9 day fortnight

Cons

Massively unstable IT system. Engineers shouldn't have to guess when a daily crash is going to happen and lose their work. Very few processes for conducting work. Those that they do have have not been specifically tailored for the Australian market. No responsibility or communication from senior management. They make serious miscalculations in contracts and the rest of the staff have to bear the blame and suffer for the mistakes. Retrench 10% of the Australian workforce just when they need them the most. No clear reasoning for why roles/people were cut, no consultation with mid level managers about what positions were immediately necessary or who were the good workers. Morale has been destroyed, and it wouldn't be surprising if people who weren't retrenched decide to move on anyway due to how badly this has been handled. In which case, they deserve it.
