Pros

Let me admit, I met some really great people among employees, more so among specialists and much less among managers, although even some managers were good people. Company hires pretty diverse people with very different backgrounds, some are really talented, some are inspiring and many do a good job and make things happen. Projects, although there are not so many, are challenging and interesting to work with... Sometimes you even believe that you work for a good company, until problems begin and there are too many...

Cons

I don't know where to start, so here it goes in spontaneous order - Stuff reductions come one after another and people are fired and forced to early retirement between major reductions all the time. Each episode makes environment more toxic. People are looking for better jobs all the time. - Pay is not competitive even for the current situation on the market and it's getting worse. - Company doesn't care about having people best suited for the job. They only care that they can pay less. - Pay and benefits are not transparent. People require transparency about salary bands for years already, and no one is going to give out this information. - Performance reviews are the joke. managers abuse their power, favoritism is rampant. Since distribution of the salaries is hard to explain, probably, performance reviews are just manipulated to justify the salaries the way they are. - Everything is politicized. - 90% of the managers don't care about their subordinates. They only care about approval of the higher managers. People who spend much time socializing with their bosses have nothing to worry about in this company. - Madrid has last word in every decision even if they have no clue of what's going on here. North American branch of the company has no independence. - Expats keep coming from all parts of the world, especially from Madrid because they can't lay off people in some countries. So they sacrifice people in locations where the employment at will exists, such as US. I condemn people who say unkind words about Spaniards and Spanish culture in other reviews. I don't think that the problem is in any nationality. Each culture has cons and pros, it shouldn't play any role in work environment. It's just a bad corporate culture, Repsol culture, period.

The company is a disaster in Canada, inept leadership with zero understanding of Western Canada. No opportunities for progression unless you are Spanish.

Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, good vacation time. There is interesting work to be found. I appreciate the corporate values and focus on sustainability.

Cons

It can be bureaucratic and red tape heavy, so many bottlenecks for decision making, too many decisions are made based on spreadsheets rather than on people as individuals. There is a focus on work-life balance, but in some positions there is just too much work for one person and that can result in long hours.

Pros

Good work/life balance Pretty good pay Good 401k matching Nice office

Cons

-Rampant favoritism -Difficult people are moved from office to office because no one wants to work with them, but they are protected by a few powerful people. - Some leaders are incredibly inappropriate. - Toss-up between who is worse, HR or leadership. - Performance is not accurately evaluated - There are some specialists who do nothing while others are being over-worked. - No one seems to want to invest time into making things better because everyone is looking for an exit. - Talented people are leaving because career development is non-existent.
