Thanks for leaving this review. We agree, remote working with flexibility and unlimited PTO is hard to beat. We are sorry to hear that other aspects of your experience at Remote aren’t living up to your expectations. Our Values at Remote have been operationalised across the entire company, so it’s tough to hear that you aren’t seeing them coming to life. We hope you feel comfortable raising your concerns within the company when you can.

Pros

Fully remote work with global exposure.

Cons

Working at Remote feels like building a plane mid-flight while the pilots change direction every 15 minutes — and then blame the crew when it crashes. Leadership changes direction constantly. Months of work can be thrown out because priorities shift overnight. No vision, just reaction. Silent layoffs are common. People disappear from Slack midweek, no explanation, no acknowledgement — just gone. “Performance issues” are often budget cuts in disguise. Even top performers have been walked out to hit short-term targets. Chasing big logo deals at all costs creates operational chaos — compliance gaps, rushed onboarding, payroll mistakes — leaving account teams to firefight. Major clients have churned because of preventable errors, but leadership spins it as “strategic.” Speaking up about bad decisions can get you labeled “not aligned.” Job security depends more on politics than performance. HR is not there for you — they protect the company narrative.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re glad you value being fully remote, and the opportunity to work with a global team. Remote has grown rapidly, and we recognize that with that growth has come challenges in prioritization and communication. We also know that as we move quickly, it’s important to strengthen transparency at the same time, so we’re taking steps to improve how we communicate about decisions that affect our people and our customers. We regret that you don’t feel comfortable speaking up, because everyone’s voice contributes to building the kind of company we all want to be part of. If you have feedback about a decision, we want you to share it with your manager, the People team, or any senior leader, so it can be addressed. Thanks again for sharing your perspective and experiences with us.
