Pros

you can work remotely although management do not support you experiencing new places and make it an issue in 1:1's which are mostly berating the people.

Cons

They have zero reality of accurate quota forecasting. The quotas are not communicated clearly and you could be well in to a quarter without knowing what your quota is. Unachievable quotas set as really poor management fail to forecast accurately. People who started at Remote in the first 6 months have managed to secure all the accounts with any revenue so therefore they finish on 300+% Yet new people that the company over hired with, have no chance of achieving the unrealistic quotas set, employees are then threatened they will not have a job if they do not make 300k for the company in a given quarter! Employees are not paid commission accurately and there is no trace of commissions owed as they have no internal system providing this data. The whole sales structure setup is not transparent and extremely vague. An EOR company who are 'expert in payroll 'have screwed up even their own employees base pay & the company withhold's commissions due. They are all fluff and marketing yet as a startup have absolutely no regard for the humans they over hired. The company announced over Slack that they were letting 10% of the workforce go. Peoples access was shut down instantly. Cut throat company. Cowboy operation. Pricing internally is also extremely vague, employee's do not even know the right pricing. Management haven't a clue, its laughable! Overcharge clients and Underpay Employee's. You can see on people's LinkedIn that not many last long at Remote. The company is corruption at its finest in how they dispose of people. Poached employees from LinkedIn, Salesforce and all top tech and disposed of them within the first 6 months. Remote should be disposed of in the same manner. There is zero culture, empathy, kindness or ethical business practice.

Pros

- Above average pay for certain roles - Full flexibility - Autonomy and empowerment to do your own projects and improve things

Cons

- Very poor leadership starting from the very top. It’s very hard to trust them as individuals and as decision makers based on my experience at the company. - Being a remote company doesn’t mean never investing in getting your people together. There’s a total lack of company culture. - Most employees feel trapped due to current environment in tech. If the macroeconomic environment was better people would be leaving at a much more rapid rate. - You are expected to be expert in complex topics without any resources (or messy ones) or formal training. People who supposedly are experts never help you. - Lack of respect of their own values, especially kindness. Have seen people getting fired in horrible ways in the middle of sick leaves for example.

Thank you for sharing your review. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the flexibility and autonomy of working at Remote. As a startup with a team spread around the world, we rely heavily on documentation, asynchronous communication, and ownership as cornerstones of our culture. This allows us to create the flexibility that you mentioned, and provides balance and a deep sense of belonging and connection. It also allows everyone to work at their peak hours of focus, distraction-free. We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have a great experience working here, and wish you all the best!

Pros

- Good pay - Some good, well-meaning managers - Diverse, interesting team members - Technology-focused

Cons

- Mostly terrible management - Senior management is poor - Burnout culture - colleagues are worked to the bone, often crying in silence (they know they will be gaslit if they raise concerns) - Gaslighting from management - Employees 'disappear' from Slack overnight (they are fired) - You feel like a disposable Slack profile who could disappear any moment

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We’re glad to hear that compensation, a technology-focused environment, and the chance to work with a diverse team (including some supportive managers) were positives in your experience. We’re very concerned by what you describe regarding management quality, burnout, and a culture where people don’t feel safe raising concerns. That is not the environment we want to create at Remote. Psychological safety, respect, and sustainable ways of working should never be compromised and we recognise the importance of leadership accountability in shaping day-to-day reality. We also understand how unsettling it can feel when team changes aren’t handled transparently or humanely. While we can’t comment on individual circumstances, we take feedback like this seriously as we reflect on how we lead, support managers, and ensure people feel heard and protected when they speak up. Thank you again for sharing—your feedback reinforces areas where we need to do better.
