Pros

Good Company for Some, Bad for Most. Good Learning if you get a Good Team. Lot of new technologies to learn if you get the right team or Project.

Cons

Learning is limited to teams who work on those technologies. Quite a large percentage of selfish people. Japan work culture is mentally tiring. It affects your health too. Slog,Slog,Slog and still little appreciation, because the end Result was not 100% perfect. ( Should allow employee to make mistakes and learn from mistakes) Politics and favourism in Some Teams. Leave Policies are very Bad. Especially All the earned leaves will be Reset to 5. instead of being carried forward to next Year. Less or No Extra Curricular activities. The Remote Teams make almost all the decisions. The Managers and employees in India just follow what the remote teams dictates. Office is in Malleshwaram, which is like another planet for most people in I.T sector.

Pros

~free lunch ~interesting international community, with an increasing number of foreign hires from many backgrounds ~opportunities to interact with many aspects of a large corporation

Cons

~Englishnization is not real. Most domestic businesses are Japanese only. ~Power harassment, sexual harassment are common. Not addressed by HR. ~Extremely dense political climate - promotions and projects are decided much more by personal connections than by merit. Decision making is extremely top-down ~All KPIs are based on instant gratification metrics without concern for sustainable growth. Anything not related to ad sales and immediate revenue is ignored. (Working in a technical position unrelated to ad sales meant little chance to be noticed or evaluated fairly)
