Pros

Good food, maybe travel to Japan

Cons

soul crushing, borderline harassment from mediocre managers. Rampant nepotism. Zero attention to innovation and creativity, they talk about diversity but they really don't care. Your boss is allowed to sabotage your work.

Pros

free food; relatively good environment

Cons

low salary; horrible culture; managers are monitoring their employees' life and always testing their employees even after work, which are quite disgusting methods that make you feel anxious ...sucks..worst company worldwide..CEO's Kingdom. Bullying in the office publicly.... If you would like to join it, enjoy your life there...

Pros

All these (fake) good reviews are written by HR people and they have credited each other's reviews to make it top review. But if you scroll little bit down you can see which one is written by true employees and which is by HR people. Not much cons, if you are a learner, challenger and ambitious. -Free meal daily 3 times, and the only company in Japan which claim to be a global and English being the main language.

Cons

- No ambition, Rakuten is sustaining because Japan is not an easy place for the foreign companies to do business and operate. So, no competition at all except Ichiba business as Amazon is threatening to screw Rakuten. -Lots of politics, non-sense rules, crowded office, endless meeting, strict hierarchy and average skilled employees. - Sometimes, you can see one or two good engineers, but they stay only 1 year at max. - Asakai which is waste of time and energy! -Cult-like founder and people around him worship. -Very low pay as th most of the money goes to the agents to replace the huge turnaround of the employees. - You can't contribute much so people get easily demotivated. - Middle managers and assistant managers are worse who know nothing about the project except micro-managing... - I might have missed but all others are covered by the other reviewers here.
