Solid Company- slow moving

Pros

The job is multi-faceted and teaches you a lot about different areas of channel, and prepares you for other positions (sales, marketing, account management)

Cons

They hire a lot of people at senior levels. Those people tend to struggle to learn, and junior managers pick up the slack without being promoted.

Pros

- nice people - potentially relaxed environment (depends on your department) - always new kinds of projects going on - interesting company culture - ever-so-slowly the company gets a little better over time

Cons

- zero career development - mediocre management and low skill level of employees in general - company attempts to mimic more successful competitors without understanding why their systems work - englishnization leads to entitled foreigners and resentment amongst the japanese staff - cafeteria's draconian rules - all departments are silo-ed, political in-fighting, zero cooperation - company preaches strong business ethics, does not always practice them, too many people do not buy into the company culture

Pros

A lot of smart people, from prestigious colleges and companies all around the world. Free breakfast and lunch friendly and cooperative colleagues some company events will never get fired even if you suck

Cons

Its hard to make new things happen, as there is so many people above you who doesn't have the time to take care of such things. Once you are in the position for more than a year and learnt what it is all about, its hard to visualize/imagine what you can/want to do next, (for the reason above, partially). Yes, it is up to you and your effort to make things happen but the environment isnt really there to help you keep up with your motivation. Thats probably one of the reasons why people leave very often.
