Pros

1) Global exposure 2) Build a talented team in India 3) Its a collective effort that we've build a very diverse team in Rakuten India 4) If nurtured properly, it has a great potential 5) Management is trying to cope up with the situation but it doesn't seems to be enough

Cons

1) Most of the IT hub in Bangalore lies in the other direction of the city hence most of the IT population stays there. We need to understand that public transportation is not very effective in BLR; by reasons of its own. So commuting to office is a challenge for most of the employees. This is Rakuten India’s Achilles heel. 2) Rakuten India is brittle, moreover it’s in a state of resonance; if the frequency increases a li'l bit more, it will shatter. 3) The talented teams we have, may dissolve rapidly. 4) People losing motivation as there is a big void when it comes to; whom to look up to? 5) Overall mood is very negative, which could be directed to positivity if right things are done at the right time. But who should decide what is right?

Pros

Big company to work for where you can definitely encounter a different culture and a lot of Japanese colleagues. Actually pretty diversified company and people are generally friendly and welcoming. You can also enjoy free Japanese classes and some other cool benefits.

Cons

-No real growth with the company -Top Management is not the best -Lack of real talent at all levels -Communication is a major problem, it doesn't go both ways instead it only goes from top to bottom -Company culture is very Japanese, they have a mandatory weekly Asakai that is a waste of time. They are very specific about you getting to the office at 9:00am sharp even if you never leave at 6:00pm sharp. The office is dead boring and does feel like a military base so if you are used to a Western work culture DO take this into consideration as you won't be happy at Rakuten
