Pros

Every other friday off. Close to the airport. Computers are replaced every three years. Some nice people. There is a bonus mechanism but the auto union members get much more than the Raytheon employees, except for the executives.

Cons

Raytheon keeps dwindling the benefits down to almost nothing. No longer any pension. They make people take these education classes on a yearly basis that are useless. It has gotten to the point where a person can not even go on travel without watching every penny that is spent and the expense reports can take a great deal of time as every charge is nit picked. The managers tell the employees that they are looking out for them so they give them the chance to move to different positions without any chance of promotion. They call this a lateral move. Raises are not worth the paper they are written on as they average about 2 1/2% which does not even come close to actual inflation. Employees are encouraged to go onto further their education with no guarantee as to a promotion once the masters degree is completed. In short people are spending two to three years at night school for no reason, unless their plan is to leave the company once complete. There is no dedicated sick time, so people come in sick and everyone else gets sick. The stock holder has become the main concern for the company and the employee has been placed far down the priority list.

Pros

Intro to a lot of different technologies, good when you are right out of college

Cons

Your co-workers who do not know how to do their job are the ones who become managers and of course, they can't manage you well and it becomes miserable until you transfer to a new group and do the same thing all over again.
