Pros

9/80 Work Schedule (Every other Friday off)

Cons

The "Forced Rating System" is used not allowing actual deserved performance ratings by supervisors (i.e. most great performers told they are doing fair only or unacceptable). there is forced employment reductions of employees over 50 years of age (their form of the movie "Logan;s Run"). Most managers are managers only with no experience about what their staff does (non-technical).

Pros

Pay seems to be at or above market. Raytheon is a big player in the defense industry, so you'll get to know it well. If you're an early career HR professional, this may be a great place to stay for a few years to get some experience.

Cons

Antiquated performance management philosophy, no real HR innovation. You're graded against your peers in order to get a raise, so no real incentive to collaborate with other HR people. Incredibly tactical, administrative HR function focused only on deadlines, not on process improvements.

Pros

Competitve salary, good benefits, capable co-workers.

Cons

Unethical, bullying upper management. Staffing decisions are made based on personal bias, not competency. The company has identifed Values and Behaviors that employees are supposed to adhere to when dealing with one another. Unfortunately the Values and Behaviors are not worth the cards or posters they are written on. There is a lot of duplication of work by multiple organizations. Corporate structure is too stove-piped. Upper management has a number of pet employees that they allow to "work from home" and charge to contracts while "working from home." Unfortunately these pet employees typically do not perform any real work and just cause more rework for everyone else.
