Strong benefits - a little better than your typical large company. Prudential has a pension plan that is still open to new employees.

Cons

Prudential promotes too many technically skilled employees to people managers. As a result you may wind up working for a very smart person who does not know how to manage you.

Pros

The Flex Schedule was very accommodating. A pleasant work environment. Medical and Dental Benefits were excellent. Once obtaining a client, and providing them with the necessary insurances or investments, it was very fulfilling.

Cons

The Insurance culture is just plain hideous. With Prudential, as with any insurance company, you are basically set up to fail. They take the low hanging fruit from you (insuring family and friends) then hang you out to dry. It's a culture that does not fully back the Agents. No liability is ever absorbed by the Company. You pay for everything (Licensing, EO Insurances, Rent, Leads) My advice to people looking into this as a career.....run the other way as fast as you can.

Everything is purely transactional, and the only thing that matters is the bottom line.
