Pros

If you choose a firm with good management you have a much better shot at making this profession a career. Find a firm with a managing director that has been there about 10 years, no less than 6.

Cons

This is just another financial services firm that steals your warm market and continues to bring in new people to do the same to them. Terrible business model.

Ethics need not apply

Pros

Money, something to put on a resume

Cons

Management turns a blind eye to ethical lapses and actually encourages them if they result in sales. They will tell you to buy leads corporate warns about as scams. They will tell you that to get other leads to work you have to misrepresent yourself. They also ignore people who scam policyholders by telling them "you have to meet with me, its the law" or "your going to lose your policy if you don't meet with me"

Pros

Work from home capability is nice. 401k and health benefits are good

Cons

Only getting back 50% of your marketing dollars after you spend over 150 makes it hard when you are trying to get started. Also be aware that they will try to sue you if clients don't stay on the books after you leave the company. This is not a company for people with limited income the 1st few years because the base pay is capped.
