Don't expect to change the status quo at a 100+ year old company

Pros

Benefits - health, dental, investment, PTO

Cons

As you might expect from a 100+ year old company, no real thought leadership. I worked in the Annuities IT group - horrible. Couldn't tell who actually made decisions, yet all decisions were micro-managed...down to the $1,000 level. Ugh!

Pros

Stable company. Good benefits. A lot of PTO. Great work life balance.

Cons

Lack of good technology..everything is old Management wants to offer fake comp-time in lieu of payment Management is too focused on politicking rather than productivity to a level beyond the normal. Pay is kind of below average: employees have left the company for low pay. Career progression is lacking another reason why employees leave the company.

Pros

Great benefits package and flexible work hours.

Cons

There's a lot of cold-calling involved, no base salary for new Financial Professional Associates and the underwriting process takes way too long (sometimes up to 2 months).
