Pros

The salary. The team members.

Cons

First of all - they don’t know what tech is in ELL, or product management. I was duped into taking the role as it looked good I had a varied industry experience in agile product. Later I found out it was actually print publishing, but I thought I’d give it a go right? Management are clueless. They don’t k ow what a strategy is. They don’t know how to lead people, essentially making anyone there who knows a thing or two miserable. In addition to that it is super heavy on archaic admin with no focus on understanding the learners, and when you highlight that you’re seen as negative. Toxic environment with bullies in management level. So many lies. Absolutely horrible behaviour and environment to work in. In Spain there one of few companies that don’t offer health insurance. Management spend travel budgets on their own silly promotion and pms can’t even get a bus ticket to talk to customers.

Pros

none to mention, not even decent salaries

Cons

The worst culture I have ever worked in; you get thrown under a bus, lack of transparency, non-existent HR, terrible management that just gets worse the higher you go because ultimately they are incompetent and push the blame down. The ship sunk long ago for this company that had so much potential

Pros

Steady employment. Money on time. Private medical care. Possibility of remote work. Diversity and inclusion. International work environment. If you are lucky and land in the right department your life could be a bliss. If you get too close to global management get ready for a nasty experience, frustration and meaningless processes.

Cons

Toxic culture. Lack of direction. Silos. Company mindset is in publishing. Little understanding of digital and software development. Managers are good people individually but their are clueless about their roles and responsibilities so they are too afraid to make any decision. Projects with no rhyme nor reason with iffy business cases that tend to be canned prematurely without any learning. Too many disjointed initiatives. Constant and never ending reorgs.
