When I raised concerns about this policy, it led to tensions with management and termination eventually. The compensation was below market rate with no additional benefits. There were noticeable cultural differences between the UK and Spanish operations, with the Spanish office feeling disconnected from the main organization. Decision-making processes were often slow due to bureaucratic procedures, and approval workflows frequently experienced delays. I found that some members appeared less engaged than others, which impacted overall productivity. The software engineering management style didn't help me to grow professionally - there was significant oversight and what felt like preferential treatment for other team members. Communication could be more constructive and collaborative. The HR department seemed to have limited knowledge of local employment regulations and focused primarily on company events like PRIDE month rather than actual employee support and development.
