Pros

Cant think of a single reason as to why octopus is a good company to work for.

Cons

- Terrible pay - The demands from higher management constantly increases. - Increased workload but still the same pay - Covering other departments losses by increasing our workload. (Ridiculous way to make up for the losses.) - They make it seem like they care about the engineer but in actual fact they really dont. - They took on people from outside of the company that couldnt progress in their former role to octopus which made things much worse. - People without the knowledge of metering is making decisions on how we should be installing meters. - Been in the company for 6 months and already looking for a way out. - Serious ego problems with most people who think theyre managers but theyre actually team leaders who sleep all day and answer calls like they just woke up. - Havent taken a lunch break since joining the company as im expected to have my lunch when charging my van when theres not always a place to eat. - being told when to take lunch. - refuse to take work off when its getting later in the day. - engineers are not being heard and are being overworked causing mass resignitions. - on the right track to becoming another ovo.. Congrats guys carry on the way you are... see how long it lasts.

Pros

Users of gold working knowledgable people

Cons

Used my knowledge then let me go. They didn’t have a clue about renewables and then fired me once they’d got the knowledge they needed.

Hey there, Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. It is really useful in helping us understand when people don't have a good time at Octopus and how we can improve as a result. I'm sorry to hear about your experience, it clearly doesn’t sound great. Although not reflective of how the majority of people feel here, it is true of your time with us which is a huge shame. Letting people go is a last resort and normally when it just isn’t a right match, for the both of us. If you haven’t already spoken to someone about this in an exit interview, where you'd have a platform to bring this to light, please do feel free to reach out to me personally. My inbox is open. Wishing you all the best in your next endeavours. Lauren Palombo Talent Operations Lead lauren.palombo@octoenergy.com
