Pros

Flexible hours - you have the choice of 8-4:30, 9-5:30, or 4 day weeks (though this option is limited). The company is "open" from 7-6 so you can use "flex scheduling" to come in early or late for either OT or to get your 8.5 hours in if you need to leave early or come in late. PTO time is 20 days plus 11 holidays paid. The co-workers are great - some have a negative outlook on the company however all in all it's pretty good. Great opportunities to move up, management is open to new ideas as well. The company as a whole has a great vision for their future. Excellent core values. There are Town Hall Meetings where the CEO actually makes an appearance and answers questions which is nice to see.

Cons

High work load, team call handling exists means you'll be working others' files (though they will do the same for you). When you first start there's a 3 month intensive training program, but that's not the issue. The training is almost too great, once you get out there you have to be prepared to "hit the ground running" and prove yourself. Team members typically leave at this point because it proves to be too much. My advise is to ride it out, a few months later you'll get your groove.

Thank you for taking the time to offer a review of MAPFRE Insurance. There are plenty of opportunities to move up in the company and Physical Damage is a great place to start. The training is comprehensive and making the transition to a full-time adjuster can be a challenge sometimes. We're glad you stuck it out and see a future with MAPFRE!

Cons

This was hands down the worst employment experience I ever had. From training to the day I quit I never felt so unwelcomed and unwanted by this company. The training was downright useless; I had better training when I worked for a gas station. Granted, it is not wholly possible to learn everything in two weeks, but they could have made us better prepared for common scenarios and provided better job aids than what they did. During peer training I almost felt like walking out because my peer trainer was so wrapped up in her own life and was too busy trying to talk to me about her daughter going to college as opposed to helping me. We had to connect a phone splitter which the rep had NO idea how to do neither did the training supervisor(who was also very unhelpful as well) Our training was also delayed for two months in which we were sent out to "help" the floor with the excessive intake of new claims, which was(and still is) too much for the number of employees in the department. I sat near people that would TALK ON THE COMPANY PHONE to some of our clients and express their frustrations on how this company is a "joke" amongst other things. This company used to be Commerce Insurance; All of the people who worked there and climbed through the ranks are now managers and supervisors who just look out for eachother, and will diminish any new hire they deem a "threat" with new ideas and a new/different attitiude about the business. If you stand up for yourself and dont take heed to their bogus approach of doing business, you will be more or less pushed out the door like I was. If you need a quick job to get by, go for it, but dont even think for one second that this is a place to start a career. I could go on and on but I think I've said enough. This is a boiler room/revolving door/sinking ship, whatever you want to call it. I was told two weeks before receiving disciplinary action that essentially my performance was where it needed to be and I had nothing to worry about. Office politics and corruption fuel this company.
