Pros

Liberty pays employees fairly. They have standard benefits, and unusually, a pension. 401k match is standard. Flexibility was excellent, though that has changed recently.

Cons

Liberty does not listen to their employees. They are currently mandating returning to office as a blanket policy, and will not let employees know the real reasons for said policy. Employees outside of 50 miles are exempt, for now. Employees that were hired full time remote are being forced into the office, despite their hiring not Management makes tone-deaf statements regularly. The new leadership is incredibly disappointing and does not follow the espoused beliefs of Liberty. The loss of David Long was big for this company, and its effects will ripple for years to come.

Forced Return to The Office

Pros

Great coworkers and really interesting projects.

Cons

New CEO is a typical white, male, millionaire, fragile-ego executive who is out of touch with the employees. Implementing old school policies that make the company start to look like Amazon. Used to be a great place to work. Every year they announce some new thing that they’re taking away from employee benefits, while continuing to raise rates. The latest is forcing us all back into the office after 3 years of working from home. A decision made by people in offices, while they force everyone else to sit shoulder-to-shoulder at tables and cubicles with barely any walls. Try taking back-to-back meeting calls with your two neighbors doing the same. The company’s leadership is completely out of touch with the employee base. It seems clear that this decision is to appease the ego of the new CEO, or to compel employees to voluntarily quit so they can cut costs and not pay anyone off. At best, it’s an insensitive decision, but could even be predatory. This is a company and CEO who operate with no integrity or care for employees.
