Pros

Pay is the thing that traps people there.

Cons

Land Rover solihull is an absolute discrace you cannot go to the toilet when you need to because you are told there is no cover for your job. Managers will always look down on you and bully you into what they want you to do. For a 9 hour night shift you get 2 ten minuete breaks and one fifteen minuete break bearing in mind takes around 5 mins to walk to a toilet. Bullying and discrimination is constant throughout the factory. The disiplinary procedure is completely one-sided and is never compleated to correct standard. Overall the company is very poor management needs a serious change or change in direction or they will run company into the ground.

Pros

Work life balance isn't bad, nice offices, good place to learn since it has a flat organizational structure.

Cons

Very little to no room for advancement. Promotions are very hard to come by, especially going from a normal employee to a manager. Lateral movement is possible, but for no raise in pay. They'd rather higher someone from BMW, MB or the corporate office in the UK than promote internally. This causes low morale, but HR doesn't care, since they are basically useless. Raises and bonuses are abysmal. Like not even equal to cost of living. No summer hours. Don't even think about asking to drive a company car. Management thinks they are made out of gold. The parking lot is full of cars literally rusting away, but they won't let you near them. What good is it working for a car company if you can't even drive them? US management isn't bad, but they are stuck with the horrible decisions that are made in the UK. The UK management is basically running the company into the ground. IT sucks and they don't invest a dime into technology. Reporting is non-existent in many cases and work-arounds are the rule not the exception.
