Pros

My wife loved the challenges and being trusted to carry out her work independently.

Cons

Interface is very progressive and values ideology above productivity. They many individuals are more concerned with appearing busy that taking on the work. In the company 10% of its employees do 90% of the work while everyone fights for credit and standing room on the shoulders of others. You will love this company for 3-6 months. You will be looking for a way out after that.

Pros

The mission. Everything that Interface does comes back to the mission and we are hyper focused on our mission to Lead Industry to Love the World (sustainability and sharing with industries how we are sustainable and they can be too). Interface is unapologetically passionate about it, which makes working here so cool. I love that Interface feels like working with a group of rebels on a mission and they aren't afraid to go for it! For a simple list of Pros: - The mission - whatever we need to make the mission happen, will happen - Lots of tenure - people are good at their jobs and passionate about it - Large group of new people - as people retire we have had a good amount of VERY TALENTED new hires which has been a lot of fun - Innovative thoughts and ideas - one of our values is literally to "Design a better way" - We work hard, but also are rewarded for it - not just in benefits/comp but in simple things like being released 2 hours early on a Friday because company goals were met/achieved/worked hard for - A lot of manager discretion The most exciting Pro of working at Interface right now is how much change is happening. We are finishing building an innovative new HQ in Atlanta (innovative in technology, design, and workplace environment). I am hoping this building will pull some of our more "set in their ways" employees out of their comfort zone and continue the culture shifts. There is so much changing I could write a novel on it, but it is all in an effort to get better and improve.

Cons

The cons at Interface are similar to most companies, and fortunately are not as drastic as other organizations. Cons: - Mission focus - if it isn't in line with the mission it IS NOT happening - Lots of tenure - tenure is great, but some people are just here because they always have been and are maybe not the best contributors. There are also a lot of people who are set in their ways. We are seeing a little culture clash of old school and new school - but I think new school is winning! - Manager discretion - it varies WIDELY based on location, role, and past expectations. It can be frustrating to watch some teams work from home 3 days per week with no problem, while other teams aren't allowed to at all or unless they have an appointment or something. When I say that a lot depends on your manager, I mean it. Also note that working in the Atlanta office/HQ is very different than La Grange or Acworth facilities. They all have elements of their own culture and I can only speak to the environment in the Atlanta office.

Cancerous Culture

Pros

I would not recommend this company.

Cons

The worst culture for growth or creativity. Lacks talent to get the simplest of projects out of the gate. Failure after failure and no lessons learned.
