Pros

Quitting was a good option. Would recommend it to anyone still working there.

Cons

I spent nearly a year working at Ingeus, and I witnessed many people come and go, many left after only few weeks. It was quite an eye-opening experience, revealing what management should avoid doing. During my tenure, I discovered a significant gender pay gap, encountered the unsettling sight of the Business Manager's used underwear drying in the kitchen on multiple occasions, and dealt with a bedbug infestation. If you dared to mention the Equality Act 2010 or even hinted at knowing your employment rights, you quickly became the company's enemy. Some of the customers we were tasked to help exhibited abusive and rude behavior, although none were as dreadful as the team leaders. Many of them displayed inappropriate conduct for various reasons, including sexual advances, abusive behavior, racist and Islamophobic rhetoric, body shaming, and sexualisation. On top of that, there was a pervasive toxic atmosphere where members of management engaged in gossip. If you didn't play their game, progressing in your career was impossible and they tried to make your life a living hell and put you on a PIP.

Pros

Good salaries compared to other employability providers. Nice and spacious offices Peer-to-peer learning. Good efforts to help customers, employees are exceptionally good-hearted people who care deeply about each other.

Cons

- leave/sick policies are stressful and unrealistic for front-line employees, they add up to the front-line employees’ poor mental health, the policies are the same for all employees, including hybrid or remote working without considering the front-line employees who are exposed to customers’ viruses and difficult cases, there is also little support to organise the unrealistic workloads of admin tasks to meet KPIs. Flus and mental health sick leave is a constant and to fix this, the company tightened up the sick leave policies instead of offering better support to improve the employees’ overall health, making it hard for the employees to trust the company. With as little as 3 separate days off-sick in a year, you are invited to attend a formal absence meeting and you may get a first warning as a result. Many wonder if this is even legal. The help offered is limited, they tell you to call an EAP line. Managers are not well-trained to deal with complex and very large teams, they are constantly busy with the demands that come unexpectedly from their superiors. The support is found within closed doors as a way to mitigate the employees’ concerns or needs when managers are caring and compassionate, this makes it clear that they have little to no power to improve the company's culture.
