Pros

Well chosen nice colleagues to work with who have empathy and understanding so the work environment feels like a nice place to work Started putting in some incentives such as vouchers

Cons

No security staff and there are incidents Underpaid - often caseload of 80 - 110 participants High percentage of 'hard to help' participants but 'monthly job start targets' are still expected Process is ever-changing No room to progress (even though they advertise internally) you rarely get the job

Pros

Colleagues make it bearable - just about

Cons

No flexibility of working patterns - not helpful in the current climate Salary is far too low for the expectations and workload - no pay reviews or incentives Advisors are told a caseload of approx 70 - infact its more like 100 Senior management never visit the sites, so dont understand what its like day to day and stress everyone is under Morale is on the floor, never any praise All about numbers and never actually check reasoning behind anything (e,g face to face appointments, job starts) Success is not factored in long term - forgotten at the start of each month Unrealistic targets even though the referral criteria has changed - stagnating and not moving with the times. Making it hard to achieve targets which affects morale Messages cascaded down the chain often meaning lower level management have to deliver bad news and face the backlash from teams. Manager morale is poor. Some managers speak to you like you're nothing Pulled up for 'conduct' if you dare to highlight any real issues A lot of staff are 'managed out'

Pros

The ONLY pro to the job is your colleagues, if you didn’t have them you’d go insane. Everyone started the job to help people but the reality is you’re not even helping anyone because you physically don’t have time do anything substantial.

Cons

Your caseload is too high from the day you start. Averaging 110 people who you have to see every 2 weeks- that’s without covering for staff who are off sick constantly. Even though some days you have up to 35 appointments and only 1 break which is a half an hour lunch you’re expected to see them all face to face. It’s impossible and someone higher up hasn’t even done the numbers and just shouted the orders. The company was already a sinking ship and it’s as if they’ve got together and said how do we make this worse? Highest staff turnover I’ve ever experienced. Averaging 1 notice a week. Get rid of good staff if they don’t hit their targets for a few months straight but don’t consider how badly over worked we are and how it’s impossible to actually create a good cv or look at jobs from doing so much repetitive admin and none stop meetings. Even lost staff due to refusing holidays from lack of staff. You put participants into jobs they don’t want or aren’t suitable for as most of them are not physically or mentally well enough- just to hit your target to keep your job. Referrals are mostly ‘health journeys’ unable to work or ‘esol’ and can’t speak any English yet our targets don’t reflect this. The training you get does not prepare you for peoples issues you have to deal with. The company values mean nothing it’s actually the complete opposite if anything it’s laughable. Management talk to you like you’re a child. For example will say let’s play a little game in the team meeting, then read out statements and make you run after them across either sides of the office back and forth as a group just to at the end say why did you all follow me if you all aren’t doing these things? Just to patronise and embarrass us all. You raise any issues in meetings and get cut off and told you are going off track and they ignore everything you say. It’s been highlighted everyone in the office is looking for a new job and they literally don’t care as they see you as replaceable. All good news stories get ignored and how awful you are all doing is the main focus. They haven’t got a clue. If you’re a minute late once in a blue moon they will bring you into a room to grill you, explain about dismissal, make you log it into your system and tell you it’s unacceptable. But they expect you to stay past 5 to complete all your admin as you get penalised if meetings arent closed properly or on time. I’m sure I could write 5 more pages of issues but anyone with a brain cell will get this far and not apply to work for this company.
