Pros

Very well paid. Too well paid to be honest, most staff there are paid way above their skill level and it's easy to get stuck there as you have to take a hefty wage cut to leave for a similar job in the industry. the good pay is thrown straight back at you though, if you ever complain about anything.

Cons

Where to start. Ultimately Ingeus are a profit machine and do not really promote any kind of empathy to clients. The attitude seems to be to scare and threaten people into work rather than support them. Lots of pressure to do things one particular way which doesn't suit everyone's working style. Targets can be super easy or super hard depending on what kind of advisor you are, but no real reason for the differences. Caseload of 90 breakthrough clients - target 12 job starts a month, caseload of 110 Engage clients - target 5 jobs a month even though the clients are pretty much the same. Ingeus promote from within so there are lots of massively under qualified manager/team leaders. An unfortunate culture of being part of the right crowd, speak out against Ingeus and their practices at your peril. Far too much money claimed from DWP (tax payers money) for simply calling the jobcentre and being told that person (who no-one at Ingeus have ever spoken to) has got a job, confirmed with the employer and take the payments without having done any work what so ever. This happens far more often than any manager would ever admit

Pros

pay- but in no way worth the stress and I'll health it costs to earn

Cons

unrealistically targeted, some bullying managers, stressful with unmanageable workload, aggressive and dictatorial management styles used by some managers. The result is stressed and jaded staff who are leaving in droves. I've never seen such a demotivated workforce in london- exhausted advisers seeing society's most vulnerable and ill people and pressurising them into work through a desperation to meet targets. And yes it does matter that clients are treated better than staff- an ethical employer would do both and of course why burn out the people delivering a service on the front line- both ethically and economically as constant recruitment of people who very quickly free themselves or are forced out makes no business sense!
