Pros

Fairly good pay, nice enough offices in central locations.

Cons

Performance management process is entirely target based with no consideration of anything other than job starts. Previously high performing staff cast aside and into a process that ultimately results in dismissal if they end up with a particularly challenging caseload. Many clients are facing barriers to work that aren't related to employability skills, medical, psychological and drug issues staff are unequipped to deal with. One of the third sector partners we referred clients to actually ditched Ingeus when I worked there as they recognised as an organisation it was impossible to provide clients with the sort of help they actually need by rewriting CVs

Thanks for taking the time to write a review about your time at Ingeus; I’m sorry to read your concerns. Our customers (who are usually from government or business) set us targets to ensure we achieve great results for the people on our programmes. We pride ourselves on delivering against these because for us, great results mean that more people’s lives have been positively impacted by our services. At Ingeus we believe that every member of the team plays an important part in this and so, in certain roles there are achievable targets. We reflect this with extensive training and support and with our competitive pay and rewards package. Feedback from colleagues - past and present - is really important to us. It would be great to get more information about some of your specific concerns. Please do feel free to contact me directly to discuss this. Kind regards, Barry Fletcher

Thanks for this, we do value your feedback. I’m glad that you found our ethos to be a plus point when you worked here; a positive culture and strong values really matter when delivering people-centered services. Regarding tough targets - we pride ourselves on delivering quality services that achieve fantastic results for our customers and for the people on our programmes. For us, great results mean that more people’s lives have been positively impacted by our services. Our commissioners set us targets as part of our contract with them to ensure we achieve these results. At Ingeus we believe that every member of the team plays an important part in helping to deliver for our commissioners. It is the case that some of our colleagues, particularly those who work in the employability programmes, work towards achievable targets as part of their role. As you mention, to reflect this, we offer a competitive pay and rewards package because we recognise the important work that our people do. Thanks again for your review, Kind regards, Barry Fletcher

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I’m glad that teamwork is a real positive for you. Your colleagues agree - in our most recent employee survey, ‘my team’ was the top rated area, in particular that colleagues go out of their way to help others. It’s great to hear. It’s a shame that you feel the benefits package is a drawback. We work hard to ensure this is competitive and a couple of years ago, we introduced flexible benefits so that people can choose the things work best for them. Options include healthcare, dental, extra annual leave, critical illness cover and life insurance. Finally, in your review you highlight a ‘top down’ approach. Whilst our senior team sets the direction of our company, we always want to hear the views of our colleagues and actively get them involved in things like new business bids as well as our regular employee surveys. If you have specific examples or concerns about this though, I’d really welcome a discussion about your thoughts in this area. If you’d be happy to talk, please get in touch with me directly. Kind Regards, Kalbir Heer
