Pros

Lots of lovely, talented people who have been duped into working there.

Cons

Brilliant basics is built on a foundation of dishonesty, fear and inexperience. People are brought in on promises of bonuses, progression and opportunity - I can assure you that none of these materialise. What does materialise is a complete lack of vision and strategy, chaotic conditions and unrealistic expectations, soon followed by shouting, bullying and then lying to make you stay. Owned by a large company, they have some big clients, but the work is unrewarding and the parent company is making a terrible culture even worse. I expect they will soon take over. The CEO is an egomaniac, chauvinist and bully. On his own he is bad enough but this is made significantly worse by his second-in-command who is a sneaky, manipulative liar. He pits people against eachother and makes false promises to appear the good guy. He is a sinister puppeteer and it is beyond me how he gets away with it.

Pros

All the junior employees and designers. Great personalities and work ethic, hard working, friendly and patient.

Cons

Where to start, the CEO (AV) to begin with perhaps. A controlling, manipulative, bully of a senior member of staff who ensured everyone knew who he was, both internally and externally. Numerous colleagues would be embarrassed and shouted at by this person, made to feel bad about either their work or their contributions. Never fully satisfied and always wanting more but never rewarding or even giving you a genuine thank you. My time at this company had a constant feeling of walking on eggshells as well as seeing the effects of this persons words on my colleagues. Stop telling everyone how much you care about the wellbeing of your employees and then shout and demean them the next. The company may have moved to shiny new offices in a great part of town, and tried to distract you with tea and nice decor, but you cannot distract from the core route of the problem, and that is the senior level of management.
