Pros

Great pay, earn personal miles for professional job duties

Cons

In my case, line manager assigned to me was from FSP model and had no idea how to work with systems. As a beginner I could not go to her with any queries or problems that I was having because the answer would always be, " I can't don your job for you - get it done!". Overall a very negative experience as everyone that I started with was just as overwhelmed and lost as I was so nowhere to go for guidance. Company has a mentor program but I was told that database lock was imminent and there was no time for this. Its basically sink or swim. I chose my mental health over dealing with disrespectful line manager so I swam - away! Your experience here will vary depending on your line manager. I was very unlucky.

Pros

The junior team are lovely and very welcoming. Seniors can be more hit and miss - some are fantastic, others are not. Ultimately the best thing about working here was that I quickly learned some skills that allowed me to switch to a more sustainable and enjoyable job.

Cons

I worried that many of my issues were due to my being new. But the things I note below are very much still issues for most of those who've been in the company for many years: - Terrible work/life balance - Staffing on multiple projects simultaneously is a mess with little effort made to ensure both projects don't well exceed 100% of your allotted time - Crazy, variable, last-minute deadlines which could often be avoided - Seniors very often overpromise to sell projects based on hype, and then don't take responsibility for underdelivering, sometimes blaming juniors for not being able to execute on them - Work is ultimately monotonous and unrewarding - Projects often rehash the same, potentially unreliable material - Benefits/salary is well below competitors - Team structures are very silo'd and competitive, meaning it can often be hard to get internal resources you need to complete a project - For a company that prides itself on using tech to tackle big problems in Pharma, the tech infrastructure accessible to consulting is dire, antiquated and often gate-kept by teams who are not fully onboard with it being used for consulting projects

Pros

Fully remote work, good pay. Decent work-life balance.

Cons

Half my team got laid off with no notice. Just a phone call saying we were terminated immediately due to "business goals not being met." This came with an abysmal severance- 4 weeks' worth, with insurance ending in two days. They also took our bonus away. It feels borderline illegal. I had a glowing performance review TWO DAYS prior, then my director laid off me without my boss knowing-my boss found out ON MY LINKEDIN POST about a half hour later. Then, they lay her off too. She was PREGNANT. Please beware if you work here. Cyclical layoffs due to headcount games and an incredibly mishandled business. Your job is not secure, and this apparently happens every year. Please go somewhere that values their people.
