Pros

-Work-life balance is okay. -Everyone knows each other on a first name basis. -401k

Cons

-It is pretty much impossible to get promoted. -Pay is unsatisfactory for services coworkers. Compares to less than that of other retailers in close proximity for the same position. IKEA is known for being "an employer that pays exceptionally well." Pay is only good if you are a part of management. -Coworkers who work in customer service work very hard, but, are treated by management as the "bad eggs" in the company. -Insurance is expensive and not very good. -Shifts are very long and stressful. -Technology is extremely outdated, leaving both employees and customers very unsatisfied. -Management is unstable and lacks enthusiasm.

Pros

Coworkers are excellent and great benefits. This is a great place to work part time and pay is decent for retail. Most managers are fair and willing to work with you for time off/ schedules

Cons

The HR department is really unprofessional. They talk very rude to the coworkers and feel superior to everyone. This is the major complaint in the store, the HR department does not care, does not want to help and rude. I always thought that HR was the liason between the store and corporate. ..WRONG! When you go to have a conversation with one, they get confrontational and defensive.
