Pros
I worked for Hyatt Corp for under 1 year. I worked for HYATT CORP. in 2013. During my short employment, i would have his is a pretty good place to work for these reasons below. 1.) There are many shifts that you can choose from. 2.) They offer free drinks (and sometimes food) for their employees...to keep you energetic and awake, of course! But it is free! 3.) Opportunities are based on loyalty- how long you've been with the company. 4.) Discounts- Offers and free stays off certain properties and rooms 5.) Weeks of training. 6.) You get to meet new people, and plus management and staff are great! Very loving, sweet, and kind staff- from call center department to upper management/HR. 7.) You get to pick your own schedule! 8.) Secured building- You can only get in/out with a badge that they give you. Makes you feel safe! 9) You are given 100 Minutes of Free time that is given to you to use for the entire month. Minutes are renewed each month! You can use your minutes to for things like short breaks, bathroom breaks, or for whatever reason you may need to take a short break.
Cons
1.) Low pay for this type of work- you are on phones all day! Insurance is not affordable 2.) This is expected because of the call center setting, but the phones never stop ringing! Can be micro-managed and a bit stressful. 3.) How the discount works- can't use free room discount on certain days. Like on holidays! 4.) Training was not thorough- I had an amazing trainer, but I didn't feel like the training was 100% effective. I felt like the content was too heavy and disbursed well throughout the weeks of training. We had a HUGE binder of stuff to memorize!. 5.) Every month the company forces you to pick up hours- everyone has to do this!! No accommodations or exceptions are made.
