Pros

Canada has good tuition reimbursement program. Depending on your superiors you may be able to have flex time and work from home. Some opportunities may be present internationally. When properly handled, there is satisfactory knowledge management and best practice sharing, which helps to do one's job. Depending on your supervisors, may be able to attend and learn from industry events/conferences. Salaries are usually kept within the industry standards. Efforts are made to retain the best employees.

Cons

Little interaction with other divisions of Henkel, thus no opportunity for cross-category experience. No official flex time policy (or summer hours). Office is very small and not a lot of movement is available within the same division in Canada. Sometimes there is lack of communication with the main office in the US, which lead to a feeling of isolation. Most of the decisions and important business related activities are handled in the US while HR is handled out of the "corporate" Canadian office (separate site), further contributing to confusion.

Pros

Flexible working time Lots of home office Easy work Very decent colleagues within Henkel Slovensko Truly ethical company and honestly trying to be sustainable. Good place to work if you have kids/other family you need to care for, planning for maternity leave, etc.

Cons

Menial work - this is a Service Center, despite what management keeps telling you. Not a good place to start a career. As onboarding, they sit you behind your PC, you watch corporate videos for a few days and then click away day after day with no end. It must be truly depressing to think this all work can be (it is not). People from the “real” Henkel tend to treat your with little respect or even as a servant. Almost everyone is reluctant to talk back to them (because they are the ones sending us work). There is no career progress to speak of - you can become a senior, but that just means you get to decide how the boring work is going to be done. For an engineer with any creativity this is a dead end. Salaries are kept as low as possible, inflation was completely ignored.
