Pros

Beautiful work location, prestigious magazines

Cons

Staff cuts means everyone is doing the work of 2 or 3 other people who got fired. Salaries are rapidly sinking because, as HR likes to say, "the industry is recalibrating." There is no value in having 20+ years experience and the salary commensurate with that; Hearst hires junior people at low salaries and doesn't care about the quality of work they can provide.

Pros

- Cafeteria - Beautiful Office - Name

Cons

- It really depends on what magazine you work for and it's management team. Some are better than others but it's a crapshoot - do your HW before taking a job. - The traditional media landscape is bleak, extremely volatile.
