Pros

Wonderful place to work with great stable of magazines and other media. Smart and talented management and co-workers; inspiring architecture and workspaces; great benefits; company genuinely cares about employees and their families.

Cons

The publishing business everywhere is under huge pressure as ad revenue declines; Hearst is no exception. Continual cost-cutting on the print side puts a big strain on morale. Creative thinking and new ideas are not always welcome; a few business units seem stuck in the past.

Pros

Hearst has the best benefits and great insurance

Cons

Every single employee is under a contract and they will threaten to sue anyone that tries to leave even if your spouse gets offered a job. The company does not promote with in, once you're hired for a position that is the position you will work forever.
