Frac Field Operator - go somewhere else
Pros
Halliburton does provide the best training in the market, all your PPE is provided, and they try to keep from laying people off if they can. They also have one of the best safety records in the industry. Benefits are "OK" at best; no better than a lot of other companies. While this is all well and good, it doesn't make up for all the negative aspects of working here.
Cons
First off, Halliburton is one of the lowest paid oil service companies with the highest turnover. Think "Wal-Mart" but oil and gas services. The schedule is 6 on 3 off which doesn't sound bad, but isn't worth it once you factor how much your away from your family compared to your compensation. The work environment is stressful; always being told if you don't perform flawlessly you will probably loose your job. Plus, management doesn't want to hear any new ideas unless they think of it themselves. oh, and this is all before the market went to crap...
