Pros

Brand name, location of office

Cons

HSBC is a place where talent is valued less than lineage. Diversity is for name sake as the brand managers who are responsible for diversity will indulge in discriminatory behaviour themselves. Hostile work environment where people will be nice towards you only if you are a ) permanent staff b) level equal to them or higher. Basic civility or niceness cannot be expected of the staff. Too hostile an environment. A manager even told me " Work doesn't matter here much, relations do". And this was when I had received appreciation emails from teams all over the world for my work. Well, If a company doesn't value work when you are at the company to "work" in the first place, guess it is the wrong place to be !
