Feel free to reach out as a current employee – perhaps we can help? Pleased for you that you see the positives of working at HKA “Good benefits, hybrid working, learning and development opportunities”. Sorry to read your Cons. We always listen and try to help…so if you can, do reach out to someone in HKA to try to make things better for you. We respect that this is your opinion, yet the vast majority of our people state our culture is collaborative, healthy, and high-performing (as evidenced in our annual employee survey and our day-to-day lived experience) …we are curious why you see this differently, and perhaps if we speak we can see thing from your point of view and improve things for you? In the interim, please take care of yourself. Best regards Kate Your Chief People Officer

I am so sorry that you feel this way. I do appreciate that you posted nearly a year ago and you are a former employee. I apologize that I am only now responding to your post and for sure HKA has evolved positively since your posting, in July 2020. Part of our continuous improvement journey at HKA is to now respond to all postings on Glassdoor as we value the diverse and different opinions posted. Firstly I do hope wherever in the world you are, you are safe and enjoying your new company. I am pleased that while you were at HKA you observed "good experience in claims and dispute". Thank you. I do see your "Cons" differently albeit that I respect that these are your views. In contrast, I do see our colleagues in HKA being very loyal and helping us continue to improve HKA and deliver great work for our clients. I also see great results and good behaviours being recognized; although I do think we can improve further in this area. I was not at HKA when you give the example of "staff employed for over 33 years made redundant without any notice"; so it would be fool hardy of me to comment in detail; notwithstanding that I can reassure you that I am clear we always follow good practice, the law and care for out people if sad and difficult commercial decisions have to be made to make a post and a person redundant. We take these decisions very carefully and try hard to avoid redundancies. We are growing as a firm globally, so this puts HKA in a strong position to support clients and our people as we go forward. Many thanks for your post and of course for your work during your time at HKA. Wishing you all the very best for the future. Best regards Kate Wood Partner, Chief People Officer

Pros

Of the various claims & disputes companies HKA are not the worst to work for, some good clients

Cons

As HKA is owned by a private equity investment company there is constant drive to be more profitable making it feel more and more like a sweat shop. In the middle east you are expected to be utilised and billing clients 48hrs per week, i know of no other consultancy that expects that. A lot of the senior people are leaving, namely the testified experts as they are better off in other companies where the rewards are better and there is less micro managing.

Thank you for sharing your views on HKA as a former employee. Thank you for noting HKA has some good clients - we agree with you. I apologise that I am slow to reply to your posting of September 2020. I joined HKA in April 2020 and as you would expect me to say; my priority has been to support our brilliant people during a pandemic; so only now am I able to progress all of the responses on Glassdoor. I was sad to read that you do not recommend HKA - that is such a shame and while I do respect that this is your opinion perhaps not surprisingly I do not agree with you. I am sorry you felt like "there is constant drive to be more profitable" due to our private equity investment company. While I do think our private equity investors are challenging us to be more profitable; perhaps like many Main Board's do in all profit making businesses; my experience is that our investors fully understand that we must and will put our people first and carefully manage each situation for the longer term success of HKA. As I am part of our leadership team; you may think I "would say this" - notwithstanding that the facts I have observed and been part of; I do not support your view that we are "simply puppets to the PE owners". Like any Executive Team we do what is right for our business for the longer term as that is our interest for our people and our business. I see you worked with us for 3-4 years in a senior role in London - thank you for your contributions to HKA's evolution. I am not sure where you are now; and I trust you are enjoying your new work and more importantly that you are keeping well during this pandemic. Thanks so much.
