Big changes....and not for the better

Pros

Nice facilities. Ample parking. Close to shops and amenities.

Cons

Recent change of leadership has resulted in big changes. Gone is the hybrid working schedule (with 3 days notice). Gone are significant leaders. We just had our 2nd RIF in 6 months. Moral is at an all time low and is not improving. What used to be a happy place to work now feels like a morgue. It feels like they want us to quit. I was happy to put up with the crappy pay because of the flexibility in schedule. Now that is gone. Don't count on the benefits advertised as they could be pulled at any time. There has been a significant degradation of benefits, and I don't think the senior leadership is done with that yet.

"Engineer's View"

Pros

some cool and nice ppl easy laid back workplace free food in engineering dept often low stress slow paced but can get busy during crunch time. company events they go big on everything if you like to eat. monthly birthday celebration in engineering. some good equipment to do job but can be better.

Cons

managers and senior management in engineering are very poor at leveraging expertise and experience of their hired staff, they all seem like nice people that mean well but their daily actions speak otherwise. reviews on micromanagement are correct, managers need to manage their people more and delegate work effectively to the proper ppl who can finish the job effectively. reviews on work ethic correct, one of my coworkers walks in late daily and leaves early and does not appear to be too busy ppl do walk out early often in general in engineering it does not look good to others I concure. Some managers do not even show up for work and nobody knows where they are including their staff when asked. work is not too stimulating often and managers are control freaks who are given too much control. pay could be better for area other companies compensate better based on experience. I cannot recommend zodiac at this time sorry my exp here as been dissapointing and overall they need to improve things to make it a great place to work and stay at for the long term. I read a few padded postive reviews on here which does not match up to what I experience daily at work but it is a big company with many depts. It is not a horrible place to work but ymmv depending on your career goals and desires how you feel day in and day out or how you are treated, some people are treated better than others where I read favortism which is also true to a point in engineering. People do not complain openly because they are trapped or do not want to rock the boat or fear by saying anything would get them fired because they have fired some ppl for going against the grain a few times in my tenure.

Lack of loyalty to long-term employees, slow to promote

Pros

Job roles are very busy because the company runs incredibly lean. They have an inspiring and visionary CEO, a strong sales team with a great VP of Sales leader, and they have taken quality and process under their wings as opportunities for improvement. They have a bright future if they can get all departments aligned with the CEO's philosophies.

Cons

Zodiac has a long standing reputation of releasing their most loyal and long-term employees. The longer you work here, the more responsibilities you will take on and the less and less your pay or title will align with your actual job - and, the more likely you will be on the chopping block on their next round of layoffs. They are very slow to promote and enjoy restructuring every September, eliminating positions and creating vague assignment of responsibilities. With unclear ownership of responsibilities, there is chaos and inefficient use of everyone's time - which no one at Zodiac has much extra time due to their extremely lean operation.
