Pros

Great experience for short term, really helps you understand the value of hard work and how to work with varies type of people. Management depending on managers will help you to move up in rankings as well. Overall a 3.5 out of 5

Cons

This company values are dropped very low, does not value workers, or give full appreciation to their employees. During my 3 going on 4 years the treatment I received at FedEx gave me a rude awakening on how management and the company itself do not respect or understand the importance on how to treat and keep great employees. If it wasn’t for the fact I needed a job to understand I leave for college and could work for me I would have left the company. After my 2nd year I realized I was not worthy and I was just another worker getting freight pushed out the door. Overall a 2.5 out of 5 would not recommend only for temporary term not long term

Pros

-If you are hired by a decent contractor and stick around for a while, you can get decent pay and benefits, including paid holidays and vacation time, however...

Cons

-Contractors increasingly unwilling to pay bonuses or give raises. -ESG madness -Drivers shafted through independent contractors' capitulations to FedEx corporate, so the so-called "contract" is a growing moral hazard. -FedEx-employed "loaders" only responsible for "making packages available", whatever that means (it doesn't mean loading the truck properly, obviously). -Load quality is non-existent. If you want an orderly load, you'll have to unload your truck and reload it properly before you start your route. This means you have to wait for the loaders to finish making a mess and get out of the way because you need the room: expect to leave at least an hour late every day. -DRO system is broken beyond all repair, meaning... --Scanner map often does not register stops that are in the manifest. --Map pins often overlap each other for multiple stops at the same location, so you don't know there is more than one stop until you deliver one. --The routing algorithm is garbage (has you passing up stops and doing them later, going in unnecessary circles, going the wrong way on one-way streets, etc.), so you'll have to plan your route yourself anyway. --It uses "vision" numbers on stickers placed on packages to indicate where they go on the truck (and where you should be able to find them). The stickers are often missing, or they are the wrong stickers, or there are multiple stickers (from previous days--so, different numbers), etc.

Pros

The frontline teammates and leaders are great to work with. Good work/life balance for this industry.

Cons

Executive leadership is now the dime a dozen traditional variety who make poor decisions based on short term gain for themselves. They are currently taking employee bonuses and bragging about them and the shareholders getting theirs. Yes, we were all informed by an SVP that the LTI paid out immediately after telling us we are not getting anything. Low pay across the board for all operations and support groups. When we bring this up, the response we receive is just be proud we work for FedEx. I used to be, not anymore. Communication is non-existent and is leaving many to speculate due to the uncertainty. Dead weight is never held accountable. Last minute policy changes that take from the employees.
