Pros

They have a good training programme and access to blue chip companies which might be very hard to get into as a graduate.

Cons

-Account managers treat you like you're second class to them. (The company tells you to contact the account managers and then the account managers simply ignore you or lie to you) -Management team does not care about the consultants -After being placed you can take up to 2 months before being placed.. so 6 months unpaid. -FDM does not care about you at all they are just looking for money in their own pockets. - Even after being placed people complain as the company will send you new contracts every week to avoid paying you until you start ..then they pay you basic for the first month before upping It (slightly anyway) not forgetting you've had almost 6months unpaid.

I’m glad to hear that you rate the training programme highly and recognise the opportunity we provide graduates with. However, I am sorry to hear that you believe we don’t care about you. Our people are the most important part of FDM and we definitely do care about employees. If anyone has treated you unfairly, please come see me or email andy.brown@fdmgroup.com so that we can look into this further. Andy Brown – Group Commercial Director

Pros

- Excellent training - One of the only ways to get into junior dev roles and establish yourself without 2+ years of proffesional dev experience

Cons

- Hawkish, incompetent account managers - Unhelpful HR department - Guaranteed placements aren't guaranteed. I have been accepted to two placements, only for them to fall through mysteriously. No one cares that I haven't been paid for months while waiting for FDM to get their act together.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I’m glad to hear that you rate the training highly and recognise the value of the FDM Careers Programme. Unfortunately, some client placements do get pushed back or fall through on occasion for reasons out of our control (i.e. budget cuts on the client side). When this happens, the team tries their best to find other suitable placements. However, it sounds like this could be communicated better and we certainly don’t want you to feel ignored. As you are still an employee, please come to see me directly or email jonathan.young@fdmgroup.com so that we can talk about it. Your feedback is important to us. Jonathan Young - CIO

Pros

Teaches you about the wider-industry

Cons

Unorganised assessment day, the graduate assessor/ coordinator came in and slammed the test papers on the floor in front and expected us to get up and pick it off the floor. Rude attitude, felt as if she wasn't the slightest bit enthusiastic. The whole assessment day and the 'values' which FDM are based on are a lie. The website states you may apply regardless if you do not come from an IT background, as a Business graduate I found that the questions in the tests could only be answered if you had done some form of coding, had studied Mathematics at university or hold a STEM degree. The last part of the day involved 3 interviews, each 5 minutes long in a boxed room. Was not too keen on the format as you do not have the opportunity to really express yourself. They are not looking for personable candidates, more tech-savy geniuses. One question asked; 'Do you prefer Android or iOS?' to which they expected you to answer Android providing a full background of the .NET space. Not exactly 'open to non-IT applicants' are we? The whole day was a waste of time. You'd be better off self-studying and earning your qualifications rather than being under the thumb of a parent company micro-managing your every step. You are restricted as to where your career will progress, unless you smart enough to identify opportunities yourself. The office felt very 'college like' which wasn't very relaxing.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We value all feedback and I’m sorry to hear that you felt the assessment day was unorganised. If anyone in the recruitment team was rude to you as you state, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further. I personally lead this team so please email me at Jeffery.Lovejoy@fdmgroup.com. In regards to your other points, we have a lot of business graduates at FDM and welcome applications from all backgrounds. We are a diverse and inclusive company, however, demand to join our Careers Programme is high and unfortunately not everyone passes our assessment day. Jeffery Lovejoy – UK Recruitment Manager
