Avoid if you have options!

Pros

There is camaraderie between employees for mental and social support against the oppressive management style.

Cons

I have never seen so many incompetent managers in one building before. People are promoted to management level based on nepotism and not skill. There's virtually no chance of being respected if you're not Italian and there will be no hope for promotion.

An absolutely awful place to work in!

Pros

If you don't want a career, any recognition and are happy to rot at a desk till retirement or the next secondment this is the place for you! There is the option of a flexi Friday, but you will need this to recover your sanity.

Cons

Quite simply the most abysmal place to work. It isn't possible to merit this shambles with zero stars so one will have to suffice. Forget about any advancement, interest in your career & development from other personnel, progression or any other aspect you may wish for in another similar sized E&P company (unless you are Italian of course) Do not come to this company with any ambition, this is opportunities for the Italians only or an old boys club patting themselves on the back and seeing out their working days until retirement, gaining a huge wad for doing absolutely nothing. Zero support form HR, read the other reviews, the only positive ones on here are by them to increase the terrible scores. The same consistent message applies. No MERITOCRACY!! No need to do a good job, you won't get anywhere by doing it so in time you will soon learn its not worth the effort. Unbelievable amount of procrastination and lack of willingness to change anything. Time wasting is an art here. Favouritism and brown nosing is the only way forward.

Eni Petroleum (US)

Pros

Solid company, well-built, strong infrastructure with a long global history. Eni US is a small regional company affiliate to the much much larger Eni SPA. Working within this small affiliate can provide some visibility to the interrelations and interactions between the individual disciplines and departments of an energy company.

Cons

eni is glass ceiling (not a glass door) for career advancement. Draconian and unprofessional method in performing staff reductions to the point where eni's front-line and even some senior managers does not know if their own direct and down line reports have been laid of or not until the very day before the lay-off.
