Pros

Great atmosphere if one performs well and manages to get in with the right crowd. Possible to get promoted quickly but takes hard work and many hours. Perfect entry position in finance.

Cons

Depending on personality can take a long time to make promotion. Will hit a ceiling after having made the two set-out promotions and hard to grow further.

Good people, terrible management

Pros

My peers were the best thing about Ebury

Cons

Management were clueless, ridiculous promise of bonuses if you hit totally unrealistic KPIs. No commission until you earn 55k for company, which is harder than you think. Just your average FX brokerage, staff not rewarded well for work. Unless you are a dealer/head of desk

Pros

Great people to work with. Atmosphere is very collegiate and everyone tends to socialise outside of work.

Cons

You dont earn commission as a junior sales for a long period. Sold the dream in this respect. Entirely dependent on the markets you pitch. Many competitors offer some level of commission from the start as well as a higher basic salary. For the effort put in the rewards are paltry for the first few years. If your lucky enough to survive without burning out there is money to be made - only 1 in 100 ever make it however. Even then, the commission structure decreases after the first year for senior sales. Ends up being a perpetual cycle of cold calling which would drive most mad.
