Pros

Strong product team. Heavily invested in product roadmap. Gartner leader but losing ground to competitors like Datadog. Good internal sales support.

Cons

Struggles to win against Datadog. Most expensive product in the market. Requirement to discount heavily to be competitive in every deal. Purpose-built for complex enterprise orgs and majority of territory accounts don't fall into that market segment aka limited opportunity to close.

Pros

Pretty lax culture as far as sales go, definitely have expectations to perform as goes for any sales role, but the company wants you to succeed. Pay is pretty high for similar roles as well.

Cons

Marketing team here is pretty mediocre and doesn't seem to have a lot of pressure to improve from my POV, so a lot of the prospecting falls solely on the sales team. Sales leadership can be hit or miss depending on who you get, some of the upper management is great and some of it is incompetent. Also, the way you're paid as an SDR is by being qualified, which is up to the discretion of only one other person, and that creates a poor power dynamic where you're left begging someone to pay you for what the company's own rulebook says you should be paid for.

Thanks for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. We appreciate learning based on your experiences. We’re pleased to hear that you find our company culture supportive and recognize our commitment to your success. Regarding your concerns, we have new marketing goals and strategies this fiscal year to enhance our initiatives to continuously support our sales team. As for sales leadership, we acknowledge the importance of supportive and transparent management and invest in leadership training. As a best practice, we are constantly reviewing our compensation structure to ensure that it remains equitable. Enabling a career path for SDRs is also important to us, building opportunities within our sales and customer success teams, for example. We’ll consider your suggestions and thank you again for your insights.

Pros

competitive salary, some great people

Cons

They have been trending down since they IPO'd. Top Leadership is weak and have a hands-off attitude, only interested in bottom line of a spread sheet

Thanks for sharing your concerns. We’re glad to hear that you find our salary competitive and have experienced our positive culture. As our company continues to grow, we’re actively working to strengthen our leadership and implement various new initiatives to remain a leader in observability. Our people are our most valuable resource. To maintain alignment with their top-of-mind concerns, we’ve recently launched a global Employee Engagement Survey. This survey will allow leadership to hear exactly what our employees need to succeed and enable them to address any issues proactively. Thanks again for your feedback, as it’s crucial in helping us grow and improve. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
